Bharat Tex, 2024:

  • Bharat Tex 2024 is the World’s largest International Exhibition, which was held from 26th Feb 2024 – to 29th Feb 2024 in Bharat Mandapam, Delhi. The Bharat Tex 2024 is an ambitious initiative by the Government of India and the Indian textile sector aimed at hosting the largest international textile exhibition in India. It is a B2B, B2G event.
  • The event displays the entire spectrum of exclusive Handlooms & Textiles from in Apparel & Home Categories. The event had Around 60,000 stalls ranging from multinational brands to funky startups for Genz. Various companies conducted exclusive workshops and conferences represented by few countries like China, Africa on Sustainability, Fashion and textile Forecasting, Color trends, and Technical innovations in textiles for various fields.
  • The State Government of Andhra Pradesh proudly unveiled its pavilion at Bharat. The Pavilion, inaugurated by the Principal Secretary (Handloom & Textiles) to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, stands as a testament to the rich heritage and vibrant textile industry of the state. The MM Nayak, Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles, Ranga Pavan Murthy, VC&MD APCO, and Vishwa Manoharan, ED APHDC joined her in this occasion.
  • The highlight of the AP Pavilion is the ODOP booth, a splendid showcase displaying the unique handlooms and handicrafts from each district of Andhra Pradesh. This endeavor not only celebrates the diversity of craftsmanship but also underlines the state's commitment to promoting traditional arts on a global stage.
  • A multitude of textile units from across the state have set up stalls within the AP Pavilion, transforming it into a bustling hub of industry activity. Notable participants include industry giants such as Brandix, Zen Linen, Mohan Spintex Tarakeshwara Textiles Ltd, Guntur Textiles Park, Hindupur Vyapar Park, and ABC Fashions. Handloom weavers’ societies like Gaddam Srinivasa Handloom Silk Sarees Pvt. Ltd, Arunachalewswara HWCS, Madanapalle, and Ponduru Society from Srikakulam have also added their distinct touch to the Pavilion, contributing to the rich tapestry of Andhra Pradesh's textile prowess.
  • Buyers and enthusiasts alike are flocking to the AP Pavilion, with a particular emphasis on handlooms and handicrafts. The Pavilion has become a thriving marketplace, with textile units receiving numerous inquiries. Customers have placed orders for 5000 meters of Dupion Silk, 500 meters of Yemmingnur checked cotton fabric of count 2/60s, and 200 pcs of Leather Lamps, thus solidifying Andhra Pradesh's reputation as a preferred destination for high-quality textiles and handicrafts.
  • In addition to the vibrant display of textiles, other key departments like APIIC and Industries have set up stalls to provide information and promote investment opportunities within the state. This comprehensive approach displays the holistic vision of Andhra Pradesh, positioning itself not just as a leading textile producer but also as an attractive destination for business and investment.
  • In addition, at Yashobhoomi, APCO and Lepakshi have set up an AP Pavilion in Yashobhoomi, a sale cum exhibition of the handlooms and handicrafts of the state. Weavers and handcraft artisans participated in the event as a part of the AP Pavilion.
  • The AP Pavilion at Bharat Tex 2024 is not merely an exhibition; it is a testament to the dynamism, innovation, and cultural richness of Andhra Pradesh's textile landscape.

WORKSHOP

TECHNICAL TEXTILES WORKSHOP 2024:

The Andhra Pradesh Department of Handloom & Textiles conducted a workshop in Novotel, Vijayawada on the advancement of Technical textiles and circular economy in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles. The event featured panel discussions on Circular Economy Strategies, Sustainability in Technical Textiles, Agrotextiles, and Geotextiles for Infrastructure, and Future Trends. The function was inaugurated by Shri. Gudivada Amarnath, Minister of Industries, Infrastructure, Investment & Commerce, Information Technology and Handlooms & Textiles, Government of Andhra Pradesh. He also on the importance of Technical Textiles and welcomed prospective investors in Technical Textiles including FDI. Smt. K Sunitha, Principal Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for Handlooms & Textiles, Industries & Commerce Department enlightened the details of initiatives taken by the State Government for the development of the MSME sector in Handlooms & Textiles and specifying the emerging opportunities lying with Technical Textiles.
