The converged MGBBY is an insurance scheme offering life insurance cover and accidental insurance cover for death or disability for a closed group of handloom weavers/workers in the age group of 51-59 years who were already enrolled under the MGBBY on 31.5.2017.
Eligibility:
Handloom Weavers/workers in the age group of 51-59 years who were already enrolled under the MGBBY on 31.5.2017 will be eligible to get insurance cover under this scheme. No new enrolment of weavers in the 51-59 years age group will be done under this scheme on or after 01.6.2017.

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) were launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minster for creating universal and affordable Social Security System. While PMJJBY provides life insurance cover, PMSBY provides accidental insurance cover for accidental death or disability.
PMJJBY is an Insurance Scheme offering life insurance cover for death due to any reason. It would be a one year cover renewable on year to year basis .
Eligibility:
All Handloom weavers/workers in the age group of 18-50 years.
Benefits:
Rs.2.00 lakhs payable on beneficiary’s death due to any cause, for one year period from 1st June to 31st May.

PMSBY is an insurance scheme offering accidental insurance cover for death or disability. It would be a one year cover, renewable from year to year basis.
Eligibility:
All Handloom weavers/workers in the age group of 18-50 years.
Benefits:
Risk coverage available will be Rs.2.00 lakhs for accidental death and permanent total disability and Rs.1.00 lakh for permanent partial disability, for one year period from 1st June to 31st May.
Premium:
The annual premium of Rs.12/- will be borne entirely by the Govt. of India.
Aimed at providing a common identity to the diverse Handloom Products of the country. The scheme also aims to assure the buyer about the genuineness of the origin of Handloom Product being purchased. Textile Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India has been engaged as the Implementing Agency for the Handloom Mark Scheme.
So far 403 PWCSs / Agencies / Individuals / Master Weavers and MAC Societies are registered under the scheme.
The objective of the scheme to ensure quality in designing and weaving and defect free product for safe guarding interests of the buyers, to ensure compliance with relevant social and environmental laws, to promote production of high end products and to facilitate marketing of Handloom products through e-commerce which is being implemented by Ministry of Textiles, GoI.
The Scheme aims to provide additional marketing avenues to the Primary Handloom Weavers Coop. Societies to dispose off their piled up stocks. Series of Handloom Exhibitions are being conducted in the State with the assistance of Central and State Governments.

7 Events (SHEs – 4 (Ongole, Ananthapur, Kadapa and Rajamahendravaram) and NHEs - 3(Guntur, Vijayawada and Kolkata) were sanctioned by GOI and conducted, with sales worth of Rs.813.80 lakhs in the year 2017-18.
Four National Handloom Expos were sanctioned and conducted by the Govt. of A.P during the year 2017-18 and sales effected for Rs.683.00 lakhs.
Government of India enacted Handlooms (Reservation of Articles for Production) Act, 1985 and the following (11) Articles are reserved for exclusive production by Handlooms.

Instructions were issued to all the Assistant Directors (H&T) / Authorized Officers and Regional Deputy Directors (H&T) / Deputy Director (Enf.) in the State to implement the Act strictly. So far (18) FIRs were filed against the Powerloom Unit Holders who have violated the Handlooms (RAP) Act 1985. The Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has launched Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS) with the primary mandate of enhancing, supporting institutions to build capacity for skill development in the organized Garment sector, implemented during 12th Plan.
Objectives:
To address the trained manpower needs of textiles and related segments including Handicrafts, Handlooms, Sericulture, Jute, Technical Textiles etc., by developing a cohesive and integrated framework of training based on the industry needs. Addressing this need is critical for enhancing the competitiveness of the industry in the globalized economy.
To increase the employability of residents of the target areas through imparting of skills in the above segments.
To ensure that the scheme is so designed as to cater to the wide range of skill sets required in various segments as listed above, while simultaneously ensuring sufficient flexibility to meet the dynamic needs of these segments over a period of the next five years.
TARGET:
Govt. of A.P. has entered MoU with Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi under Component-III and was given a target of 23,200 to A.P. for the remaining 3 years of 12th Plan (i.e., 2014-2015 to 2016-17). Further the Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi has reduced the Target to 12,000 to achieve as on 31 March, 2017. Govt. A.P. has achieved the physical Target of 11055 as on date.
