  • In Andhra Pradesh, about 1,77,447 Handloom Weavers are getting employment in the Handloom Industry in the State. .
  • 415 Primary Weavers Cooperative Societies are working.
  • Ponduru, Uppada, Pedana, Mangalagiri, Venkatagiri, Dharmavaram, Chirala, Madanapalle, Madhavaram etc., are some of the unique Cotton and Silk Handloom products produced in the State.
  • Uppada Jamdani Silk Sarees, Mangalagiri Sarees & Dress materials, Venkatagiri Sarees, Dharmavaram Handloom Silk Sarees and Pavadas are registered in Geographical Indications Register (GIR).

3. AP Handicrafts Department:

  • An Andhra Pradesh Government Undertaking, showcases a diverse range of traditional crafts and art forms, each unique in style, theme, and expression. Established in 1982, A.P. Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. promotes and markets these exceptional products while supporting over 2,05,000 artisans across the state.
  • Through various welfare schemes and financial assistance from the Government of India and Andhra Pradesh, we aim to preserve and uplift the region's rich craft heritage.

4. Horticulture Department:

  • Chilli is an important spice used all over the world in one form or the others. Guntur district is known as land of chillies for its extensive cultivation of chilli crop in an extent of 18,400 ha. Covering 21,572 farmers It occupies 75% of total Horticultural area in the district.
  • Chilli is cultivated in 15 Mandals in the district . That is why Guntur district is called by name Chilli City of India. Guntur Market Yard is being the largest chilli market in Asia, it influences the domestic and international prices of chillies
  • Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh alone produces 15% of the chillies area produced in India and the state of Andhra Pradesh as a whole contributes 40% of India's chilli.
  • Cashew is main livelihood Horticulture Crop in Tekkali Jurisdiction in Particular and in the district in general. Due to adaptable agro climate, access to Processing Industries.Cashew is cultivated in around 24000 Hectares in the district
  • Cashew cultivated in all geographical agronomical conditions viz., Plains, Tribal high altitude zones, and Sea Coasts. The Extent of Bearing orchards is 22,000 Hectares.

5. Fisheries Department:

About Us

Visakhapatnam is a coastal, port city, often called “The Jewel of the East Coast”, situated in the of Andhra Pradesh, located on the eastern shore of India, nestled among the hills of the Eastern Ghats and facing the Bay of Bengal to the east. It is primarily an industrial city, apart from being a port city. It is also home to the Eastern Naval Command.And it isa primarily maritime district and a large population of fishers from the adjacent district seek their livelihood depending upon the SEA FOOD. The fisheries sector aims at exploitation of all the possible water resources under capture and culture fisheries for increasing fish production and productivity through sustainable development. The sector is contributing considerably for, food security, nutrition and health, lively hood security to rural population besides export earnings and welfare of fishers. Recognizing the importance of fisheries sector, it has been identified as growth engine for economic development based on an evaluation of potentials of sectors to build on accumulated strength, to make significant impact on Gross State Domestic Product, and to exploit opportunities created by global trends

6. Industries Department:

About Us

The world famous Galaxy Granite deposit is located in Chimakurthy, R.L.Puram, Budawada and Devarapalem villages of Chimakurthy Mandal, Prakasam District. The quarry zone lies in between 23rd to 26th KM stone on either side of Ongole - Nandyala -Kurnool State High Way road. The active quarry zone falls in Survey of India Toposheet No. 57 M/14 and lies in between the N15O35I15II - 15O35I20II North latitude and 79O48I20II - 79O50I35II East longitudes.

Black Galaxy Granite is located in a Chimakurthy village in the Ongole district of Andhra Pradesh. Indian granite, “Black Galaxy” has been shining brightly for over 35 years upto now. Black Galaxy Granite is also called Star Galaxy, Galaxy granite, and Gold Star Granite. Its reputation as being more durable and stronger than regular granite has been enormous, with about 10 million cubic meters of the material ever sold.
