Financial Assistance to the Individual Beneficiaries:

  • Government of Andhra Pradesh have issued orders in G.O.Ms.No.89, Industries Infrastructure, Investment & Commerce (Prog-II) Dept, Dt.23.10.2019 to implement YSR Nethanna Nestham Scheme for providing Rs.24,000/- per annum to every Weaver family who owns a Handloom to modernize their equipment and compete with the products from the Powerloom sector.
  • With the financial assistance provided, the Weaver beneficiaries are upgrading their looms with modernized Handloom technologies like jacquard, motorized lifting jacquard, frame looms etc., to suit for weaving with new designs to compete with the Powerloom and Textile Industry and for improving their socio-economic status by earning more wages.

Marketing Events

  • The Marketing events are being conducted to provide additional marketing avenues to the Primary Handloom Weavers Coop. Societies and Master Weavers to dispose off their stocks.
  • The following Marketing Events were conducted during the year 2023-24.

(1) CRAFT BAZAR,at BHOPAL:

  • “Craft Bazar”, an Exhibition cum Sale of Handloom & Handicraft Products at Bhopal was conducted in collaboration with SANT RAVIDAS M.P. HASTSHILP EVAM HATHARGHA VIKAS NIGAM LTD., of Madhya Pradesh State from 16.06.2023 to 25.06.2023 at Gohar Mahal, Bhopal, MP.
  • (10) Primary Handloom Cooperative Societies/Master Weavers and APCO have participated in the event and generated sales of Rs.4,57,000/-

(2) HANDLOOM EXHIBITION CUM SALE at VIJAYAWADA:

  • On the eve of National Handloom day on 7th Aug, 2023, an exhibition cum sale was organized from 07.08.2023 to 12.08.2023 at Maris Stella Indoor Stadium, Vijayawada.
  • (45) Primary Handloom Cooperative Societies and APCO have participated in the event and generated sales of Rs.21,22,784/-

(3) HANDLOOM EXHIBITION CUM SALE at HYDERABAD:

  • To dispose off the piled up stocks with the Primary Handloom Cooperative Societies in the State, on the eve of Deepavali an exhibition was conducted from 27.10.2023 to 02.11.2023 at Sri Sathya Sai Nigamagamam, Srinagar Colony, Hyderabad.
  • (38) Primary Handloom Cooperative Society, APCO and Lepakshi have participated in the exhibition and generated sales of Rs.37,79,749/-

(4) HATHKARGHA MELA (SHE) at TIRUPATI:

  • The Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Govt. of India, New Delhi has sanctioned (1) Hathkargha Mela (SHE) to be organized from 20.12.2023 to 02.01.2024 at Tirupati.
  • The Hathkargha Mela (SHE) was organized at Shilparamam, Tirupati and (89) Primary Handloom Weavers Cooperative Societies of Andhra Pradesh and from other States have participated in the event and generated sales of Rs.1,20,2,262/-

(5) GANDHI BUNKAR MELA (NHE) at HYDERABAD:

  • The Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Govt. of India, New Delhi has sanctioned (1) Gandhi Bunkar Mela (NHE) to be organized from 10.01.2024 to 23.01.2024 at Hyderabad.
  • Gandhi Bunkar Mela (NHE) was organized at Peoples Plaza, Hyderabad and (122) Primary Handloom Weavers Cooperative Societies of Andhra Pradesh and from other States have participated in the event and generated sales of Rs.1,03,92,162/-

(6) INDIA INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR (IITF) 2023 at NEW DELHI:

  • India Trade Promotion Organization has organized 42nd Edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 at Pragathi Maidan, New Delhi. from 14-27 November, 2023 with a theme of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- United by Trade”
  • APCO has participated in the Trade Fair to show case the Handloom Products of Andhra Pradesh State and also to conduct the sales at the fair. APCO has generated sales of Rs.67,706/-

Skill Upgradation Trainings

  • The Chief Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh has instructed to identify requirements of trainings to Weavers in ODOP for skill enhancement during the Review Meetings on Skill Development held on 10.11.2023 & 08.12.2023.
  • Accordingly, the District Handlooms and Textiles Officers in the State have identified to conduct trainings to Weavers in ODOP at (5) Districts in the State i.e., East Godavari, Guntur, Bapatla, Tirupati and Sri Satya Sai Districts.
  • Further, the Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles, A.P., Amaravati vide this office Lr. Rc. No.1744/2023-F, dated 21.12.2023 and 05.03.2024 has requested the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, APSSDC, A.P., Guntur to sanction and conduct trainings at following centers.

  • Further as per the norms of the APSSDC, the above Training Centers, Master Weavers and Trainees Registration in APSSDC Skill Development Portal was started.
  • But the Election Commission of India has released the notification for General Elections, 2024 on 16.03.2024 and Model Code of Conduct came into force.
  • Due to issue of Election notification and Model Code of Conduct, the ODOP Trainings are temporarily withheld upto completion of Election Process. And after completion of Election process, the trainings will be started at respective training centers.
